SonicAbuse is a non-profit music website dedicated to providing detailed and thoughtful reviews of music from across a range of genres, albeit with a primary focus on heavy and extreme music. Covering both mainstream and underground acts, SonicAbuse is particularly dedicated to providing exposure for those local and international acts that are underrepresented in the mainstream press. The ethos of the site is to provide constructive, rather than overly critical reviews, as well as in-depth interviews, and news stories.
We welcome submissions from bands, labels, and PR companies and endeavour to cover what we can, although physical submissions will always receive priority. Please use the contact us button below to get in touch or to request a postal address.
We also host small quantities of advertising to cover costs, but maintain a no pop-up policy, as our first priority is always to the readers and bands who make use of the site.
The site maintains a strict no-AI policy. We do not accept AI submissions and, while we may post news pieces from external agencies that have been edited using AI (on a case-by-case basis; anything that is obviously written by AI will be rejected), we do not use AI in the planning, construction, or editing of our writing. our mistakes are ours alone and we are proud to own them.
