Italy’s most exciting festival, La Prima Estate, is back for its second year, this time expanding to two unmissable weekends from 16 – 25 June 2023 and bringing some of the biggest names in music to the stunning setting of Lido di Camaiore on the Tuscan coast. Tickets are on sale now at www.LaPrimaEstate.it
Weekend one (16 – 18 June) welcomes the endlessly influential rap deity and ‘King Of New York’, Nas, indie institutions Bon Iver, and genre-defining electronic duo Bicep, as headliners. Indie rock band Alt-J are set to headline the second weekend (23 – 25 June) alongside funk pioneers Jamiroquai, with hip-hop super producer Metro Boomin closing out the party.
Also joining the stage in one of Italy’s most picturesque seaside towns are Japanese Breakfast, Chet Faker, Domi & JD Beck, Kings Of Convenience, Guinevere, Just Mustard, Geolier, Bruno Belissimo and Studio Murena.
La Prima Estate is the brainchild of the creators of the legendary Lucca Summer Festival, which has brought some of the world’s biggest stars to Tuscany. Each evening will see four international artists taking to the stage, just 50 metres from the sea in the spectacular Bussola Domani Park in Lido Di Camaiore, Versilia. The music is just the start of this festival, which combines unique experiences in food, art, local culture, nature, mindfulness and sports in a stunning setting – combining music, vacation and fun.
Weekend One (15-17 June)
Commencing the weekends festivities, one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time, Nas, will grace the Tuscan coast with his world-famous wordplay. The opening day of hip-hop will also feature Geolier, one of the hottest names in Italian rap. Saturday will provide a chance to catch the warped, lo-fi drums and stacks of ethereal synths of Bon Iver, delivering gems from their 17-year discography of indie folk to the Tuscan shores. They will be joined by the melancholic indie pop of Japanese Breakfast, Norwegian indie folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience and classically infused folk-rock from Italy’s own Guinevere. Closing out the opening weekend with a bang will be Belfast’s house music kings Bicep, delivering the euphoria their melodic brand of dance music has become so renowned for.
Weekend Two (23-25 June)
The second weekend’s Friday night headline set comes courtesy of Alt-J, delivering their intoxicatingly off-the-wall style that spans from indie pop to art-rock folktronica. They’re joined by Chet Faker‘s Aussie electronica, one of the most exciting duos in the jazz scene, DOMi & JD Beck, and 5-piece Irish alternative outfit Just Mustard. Saturday welcomes acid-jazz aficionados, Jamiroquai, who are set to delight Italian audiences with their audaciously fun, funk-filled performance. They’ll also be joined by the tropical disco aficionados Nu Genea Live Band, Italian hip-hop sextet Studio Murena, and the Italo/disco sounds of Bruno Belissimo. The monumental second edition of La Prima Estate will be played out by one of hip-hop’s most in-demand producers, Metro Boomin, with the platinum-selling producer bringing his bottomless collection of hip-hop’s biggest bangers for the festival’s grand finale.
La Prima Estate is more than just an incredible music festival, it also offers a truly memorable holiday experience in one of Europe’s most breathtaking locations. Before the live shows get underway, the festival offers a huge range of experiences, drawing on the culture and beauty of the local area and taking over the whole town of Lido Di Camaiore. From spending the day enjoying the exceptional beaches or surrounding mountains to art, wine and culinary experiences, as well as mindfulness, sports and much more, La Prima Estate offers something for everyone. To top it all off, Versilia’s vibrant nightlife will keep the party going with Aftershow Parties at its iconic nightclubs each night.
Mimmo D’Alessandro, CEO of D’Alessandro e Galli says: “Coming back for our second edition of La Prima Estate, we really wanted to build on the foundations of the debut year that saw us become the most discussed Italian festival on national TV and radio. When you look at the calibre of artists performing, on top of our expansion to two weekends, this year feels like a statement for a very exciting festival.”
