  1. I could not agree more with your reflections on a wonderful album. Paul’s lyrics have always been exceptionally challenging and rewarding, whilst Jacqui’s performance is consummate. Saw them last night at Shepherds Bush, which was a wonderfully touching event that was top notch from start to finish. I love the edge to Paul, and now Jacqui’s performance since going solo, evident even in the reworking of some of the classic Beautiful South numbers. Seems to be an ongoing reunion so here’s hoping for for more to come. Big grins all round I say.

    1. Hi Mark,

Thanks for visiting SonicAbuse, reading my review and taking the time to comment! Although I live in Brighton, I travelled up to Leeds to make sure I saw one of the dates on this tour, as work meant I couldn’t do any of the other dates. It was well worth the hefty round trip as it’s easily one of the best gigs I’ve seen this year and an absolute pleasure to see Paul and Jacqui together – I’m betting the Shepherds Bush Empire show was a real treat too. I, too, really hope that they will make more music together and that it is of the same high standard as this career high. Maybe that’s asking a bit too much, though! Big grins indeed!

      Best wishes,

      Andy.
