This summer is hotting up for The Heat Inc., who are making waves with their first-ever film soundtrack and a standout appearance on a brand-new Ramones tribute album.
Their cinematic debut comes via Hot Milk, the directorial premiere of BAFTA-nominated writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida, She Said, Disobedience). The film, which hit cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 4 July, features three tracks from The Heat Inc.: Polaroids, Little Knuckle Charlie, and Get Wild.
Starring BAFTA award-winning Emma Mackey with Fiona Shaw, and based on Deborah Levy’s Booker Prize and Goldsmiths Prize short-listed novel of the same name, Hot Milk received its World Premiere in Competition at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.
“Hot Milk is such a work of sweltering, unabridged and emergent brilliance that when Rebecca asked us to be a part of the film, it wasn’t so much a question as a confirmation of what we already knew.“
“Being a part of this film…this thing…it goes beyond literature, beyond film, beyond sweating in a barely ventilated bedroom, with one shit fan and a dog barking somewhere outside and not enough water to hand. It’s urgent and unrelenting and thankfully, it’s something most people needs must pass.” – Jon Dodd (The Heat Inc.)

“We’re honoured to be part of this incredible tribute to The Ramones.
Under manners from Magnetic Eye Records and curated by Grammy award-winning producer Marc Urselli, there are so many great artists involved in this project – including Wayne Kramer (MC5), Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age), Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal), Kid Congo (Cramps, Bad Seeds) – we couldn’t consider ourselves in better company.
The Ramones shall be remembered for the intensity and uncompromising nature of their performance, all while delivering monster melodies and maintaining their integrity above all else. Whether or not you agree entirely with what they had to say or whom they were as individuals, there is a purity to their sound and that is to be respected.” – Marco Simoncelli (The Heat Inc.)
