This is a sort of solo project with guests. Vitne is the lead vocalist, bassist, rhythm and acoustic guitarist, he even plays flute on one track! He wrote or co-wrote all the tracks and produced the album – an impressive feat.
A strange and mercifully brief, techno like ‘1/0’, runs into ‘Destroyer’, a short rocker, reminiscent of late 80’s, early 90’s heavy rock, complete with slightly fuzzy guitar sound. Julian Angel livens up the track with some enjoyable guitar solos. It’s a short catchy track, with a good riff. Next up is ‘Nasty Habit’ which has a heavy rock / pop crossover feel. The track has a good solid bass line, a simple riff, lots of harmony vocals and a quick run up and down the fret board by Angel again. ‘Silhouette’ is a slower paced, moody track, with a really good guitar solo. The keyboards sound like violins, and the result is quite different, really.
‘Royal Nights’ is up next. It has a catchy riff, lively drumming by Phil Robertson, and plenty of harmony vocals. Like most tracks, it’s about relationships, sex and good time rock and roll. ‘Lick You Up’ and ‘To The Sky’ are short, catchy rockers, with simple riffs, a staccato tempo and some enjoyable guitar histrionics. In contrast, ‘I’m Feeling Deadly’ has a quicker guitar riff, hammer down drumming and plenty of short guitar solos, this time by Steen Larsen. Like the other tracks, the vocals are clear and confident. ‘Cruisin’’ is quite varied in tempo and has a more pop, metal crossover feel. It also features a great ending with Julian Angel’s guitar solo. The album ends with ‘Rest In Peace’,a rather clumsy ballad about the woman with whom you are obsessed not replying to your calls!
To sum up, it’s a decent CD, with some enjoyable, short, simple hard rock tracks and a number of enjoyable guitar solos.
