Peaceville is proud to announce a new partnership with re-invigorated Norwegian Blackened Thrash legends Aura Noir for their comeback studio album, set for release in 2027. Furthermore, the band’s last two studio releases, ‘Out to Die’ (2012) and ‘Aura Noire’ (2018) will also receive a special reissue through Peaceville this October, on limited marble vinyl, black vinyl, and CD. Finally, Aura Noir’s 2008 opus‘Hades Rise’ will follow in November, on limited red vinyl, and on CD with bonus tracks.
Regarding the announcement, the band states:
“Aura Noir is currently working on new material, and we are chuffed to reunite with Peaceville Records once again as we move towards the release of the next album. Peaceville has always been the natural home for Aura Noir, and we look forward to keeping this alive. We are also pleased to see the Out to Die and Aura Noire albums return in remastered form (courtesy of Jack Control/Maor Appelbaum) and finally receive the treatment they deserve. We’re proud of these records and it’ll be good to see them back in circulation. Buttocks up!!”
Peaceville label manager Paul Groundwell adds:
“A privilege that Aura Noir has returned to Peaceville, to once again prove the long-debated theory that the ugliest metal is often among the greatest!”.

PRE-ORDER NEW AURA NOIR RELEASES
Norway’s Aura Noir was formed in 1993 by Aggressor & Apollyon in pursuit of a more thrash-based form of black metal than much of what was coming out at the time – particularly in their homeland – citing bands such as Slayer, Sodom & Kreator as inspirations along with purveyors of the scene such as Venom, for a dirtier, stripped down, violent black/thrash metal sound. Their first official release was the ‘Dreams Like Deserts’ EP on Hot Records, and from there-on the band became a truly cult act, releasing a string of albums among ongoing live performances over the subsequent decades.
All members of Aura Noir have had illustrious careers to date, with Carl-Michael Eide (Aggressor) notable for his work in Ved Buens Ende, Dødheimsgard, Virus, and Fleurety, as well as being part of other scene icons such as Ulver and Satyricon in their formative years. Apollyon, currently also seen in Coffin Storm with Darkthrone’s Fenriz, previously featured in Dødheimsgard, as well as Lamented Souls and Immortal. Completing the trio is Blasphemer, formerly of fellow Norwegian legends Mayhem, as well as being current main-man in his recently established band, Ruïm. Apollyon and Blasphemer also currently form part of the Bathory tribute supergroup, Blood Fire Death.
