Final Coil Announce Debut Album

Leicester-based alternative rock band Final Coil have entered the studio to record their debut album.

Featuring eleven songs that build upon the progressive foundations laid down by the band on their successive EPs ‘Somnambulant’ and ‘Closed to the light’ (both available for free download at the band’s Bandcamp page here), the band’s as-yet-untitled record is currently being tracked at the prestigious Real Sound Studio in Italy (where SonicAbuse favourites Way of Purity and CreTura also recorded) by Whoomi Corvi and is slated for release in early 2017. Details regarding the nature of the release and the formats are yet to be announced. The band, who played a powerful slot at this year’s inaugural Uprising Festival as metal 2 the masses finalists, are plotting live dates and further release shenanigans which will be unveiled soon.

Last year, the band released a powerful lyric video for ‘Daylight Fades’, created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art, to support the release of ‘Closed to the light’ which you can see below:

Regarding the recording, the band issued a statement via Facebook on Dec 6th:

“2016 has been a remarkable year for Final Coil. Following the release of the ‘Closed to the light’ EP in 2015, the band has been working hard behind the scenes to write a full-length debut album and we’re proud to announce that, finally, we are entering the studio. This morning, the whole band flew out to Italy to spend three weeks at the respected RealSound studio, the same studio in which both CreTura and Way of purity recorded. Featuring eleven songs, the album expands upon the experimentation of ‘Closed to the light’ whilst still offering up the trademark powerful riffs and twisted harmonies that have been at the core of the band’s sound since the start. We’ll be updating from the studio and sharing more details in the coming weeks but we’d like to start by thanking all those that have supported this year and we hope that you’ll join us on the next stage of our journey.”
