Leicester-based tech-metallers Monachopsis have returned with a brand new EP. Following on from 2018’s impressive From Mind To Eye debut (reviewed here), the band have regrouped to deliver another torrent of face-melting riffs and technical precision.

The second EP by UK based technical melodic death metal act Monachopsis, As the Dreamer is an aural onslaught of technicality, complexity and brutality with a hefty dose of sombre melancholy and melodiousness for good measure.
Written between 2017 and 2019, and recorded sporadically between 2019 and 2023, As the Dreamer encompasses all the pain, misery and anguish that came from it’s developmental-hell-style creation process.
COVID-19, injury, illness, line-up shifts, studio issues and the trials of day-to-day life all contributed to the lengthy delay of the project, but the band feel that it’s all been worth it to have the next chapter of their tenure wrapped up, and couldn’t be happier with the final result.
