Ones To Watch *4 – Blind Image

For those who like their thrash metal to combine the snarling aggression of the new breed of thrash artists with the striking intelligence of ‘Master of puppets’ era Metallica, you could do a lot worse than check out up-and-coming Indian band Blind Image.

Formed by drummer Krish in 2007, as a means to jam on tunes by bands such as Megadeth and Metallica, the band have spent the intervening years mixing those early influences with the devestating heaviness of bands such as Bloodbath, Opeth and Pantera while holding on to the elements that have made thrash metal such a beloved genre around the world. Featuring the talents of David (vocals), Shri (on guitar), Vg Pranav (also on guitar), Shiva (bass) and the aforementioned Krish, the band are a tribute to the hardworking spirit of the early thrash bands with Krish also doubling as the band’s manager and the band seemingly happy to grab any opportunity to play to their fans going.

With two albums to their name so far – ‘Psychobabble’ and sophomore effort ‘More than human’ which will soon be reviewed here on these hallowed pages, Blind Image have yet to make an impact here in the UK largely because the aforementioned albums are not readily available, but a quick glance at their various websites (linked below) should be enough to convince you that the band contain a veritable pool of talent and with ‘more than human’ coming to Itunes this year they’re likely to rapidly gain a deserved following here.

In the meantime you can discover much more detail as well as various tracks at the band’s sites, you’ll be glad you did.
