SACRED REICH have just announced a full European tour beginning November of 2019! The legendary US thrashers are currently recording their highly anticipated new full-length, which is entitled “Awakening” – their first studio album after a 23 years break! The “Awakening Tour” will cover 12 European countries.
SACRED REICH comment: “Recording is in full swing with producer Arthur Rizk at The Platinum Underground in Arizona”, reveals frontman Phil Rind. “We are so excited to be back in the studio after 23 years. When SACRED REICH announced their split in the year 2000, they left a wide open gap – and not just for fans of thrash metal. Since their founding in Phoenix, Arizona in 1985, the Americans had created their own space within the metal scene with their intelligent critical and political lyrics and a punk influenced attitude that also reflected musically. Their debut full-length “Ignorance” immediately created an international buzz following its release in 1987, but their big breakthrough came with the EP “Surf Nicaragua” a year later. The EP’s title track – angrily unleashed by the unique voice of frontman Phil Rind – has remained an essential classic at any metal disco ever since. With their following albums “The American Way” (1990) and “Independent” (1993), SACRED REICH confirmed their reputation as one of the leading thrash metal acts. The band’s fifth studio album, “Awakening” is scheduled for release via Metal Blade Records this summer.
